Doris O’Conner is quickly becoming one of my favorite short story authors.  Her ability to put a whole story together in a quick read, giving us suspense, intensity and emotions while bring the story to a satisfying closure is something I look for in short books. 

In this first book of the series, we meet Slade and Laura.  Slade was the best friend to Laura’s big brother Mike and she grew up adoring Slade and fantasizing about marrying him one day.  To him, Laura was always just the little brat, but he did adore her. 

When a tragic accident happen that left Laura’s parents dead and Laura injured, Slade was there to comfort her but he wasn’t allowed to stay.  Falsely trusting Mike to take care of Laura, Slade left to pursue his own life when years later he comes face to face with her once again.  She was being auctioned off at his club as a slave/submissive. 

Once he was able to quiet his confusion and anger he purchased her and started uncovering what had happen to his little brat over the last few years.  Love is there for both of them and we watch as they begin to figure out their future.  Of course things won’t go smoothly when big brother Mike shows up to defend and protect his sister, but by this time the truth of what Mike had done after his parent’s funeral has been exposed and the friendship between him and Slade was already suffering.

I really love this book, it kept me turning page after page looking for answers and to a conclusion in the story of Slade and Laura.  The only complaint I had is I wished this would have been a full length novel because I wasn’t done with the characters.  The next book Auctioned to Protect proves to be as great of a read as this one and I will be looking for the third book in this series as well. 

The author gives us characters that are so developed there is no need to term any of them as secondary characters.  I love when an author doesn’t delete characters from the first books as the series goes because I become attached to all of them.  Make sure you grab this series and enjoy.  It is a quick read but a very enjoyable one that leaves you wanting more. 

I just finished Auctioned to the Honorable Dom and I really liked it.  It’s one of those stories that is quick and sexy but packs a serious punch.  Laura is having a girl’s night with her friend when she is told about an auction.  This auction is a legitimate thing and she would be sold to the highest bidder which would be a Dom.  Not wanting to really think twice about it, decides to go for it.  The most experienced Dom wants her but little does she know that she has met this Dom.  Slade is 15 years older than Laura and has known her since she was a kid, him being friends with her brother Michael.  Believing she is too young for him and wanting to keep a promise to Michael, leaves the country right after the funeral to Michael and Laura's parents.  Heartbroken, Laura believes that Slade had never wanted her to begin with so when she sees that he bought her leaves her totally confused.  What will happen between them once the truth is revealed?  You will have to read and see.

I really liked this story.  It was very quick but sexy and it will suck you in.  Slade is one sexy bad-ass.  Like all Dom's wants a submissive that understands him and the things that he needs.  I like how he only wanted her to be submissive in certain scenes.  IT was refreshing like that. I have read too many lately where they are submissive from start to finish and not saying I do not like that, but can be overwhelming to the story.  I like a submissive that will defy her master and accept punishment!  :)  Laura is definitely that.  She has loved him forever and was glad that she was able to finally tell him how she felt.  I can say that the chemistry between them is so freaking hot, I'm sure I was fanning myself a lot!

I like how the other set up for the next.  I wasn't expecting that but love it when it happens.  It was a pleasant surprise.

Seriously, get this one.  You will not regret it.  You might learn a thing or two!

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband.
