That is, if she can trust him. Because if there’s one thing Red knows for sure, it’s that believing in the wrong person can have big, bad consequences…

I started reading this series completely backwards, but it caught my attention so well that I just had to start from the beginning and just enjoy this series.

To be upfront and honest, I usually do not enjoy the books that are based upon fairy tales and been re-written because they seem to take the story to a level that just shouldn’t have been done with the childhood classics.

With this author, I completely have fallen in love with her series to the point to where I can’t wait for the next book to come out. She is able to take the fairy tales that we grew up with, and turn them into adult fairy tales, but not in the erotica sense.

The story that happens between Nate and Red was one that was so sweet and well written that you couldn’t just help but cheer for the two of them as the story progressed. I really enjoyed Red’s character because she was one that would take no crap from anyone, and she was willing to stand up for her friends no matter what. She was just a really well written character that you couldn’t help but enjoy. Nate’s character was one that I enjoyed right from the start. I’m not really sure why exactly that was, but I do know that I did enjoy him and I think he’s a perfect match for Red.

There is a ton of action in the suspense that happened during this book. It was so interesting to find out and realize that not every fairy tale that came over had it completely made.

One thing that I did enjoy about this book, that did set it apart from the fairy tales, is how the author gives you more of a story of what happened after the fairy tales story was written. Or even, how the real version is so different from what was written. But once again she does it in a way that adds to the story and doesn’t detract from anything.

Overall, I would completely recommend this book because even if it doesn’t seem like your normal genre, which it didn’t when I started reading this series, you will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you fall in love with the characters and just enjoy the story overall.
