Dive into The Revealed
This book picks up right where the first left off. Drake is in jail facing murder charges for
saving Misty from an attack. Naturally,
Drake is trying to push her away since his future is so uncertain. But that leaves Misty broken hearted and
seeking solace in Sean, Drake’s older brother.
There are a lot of lies, a lot of secret keeping and a lot of heartache
in this installment of the series. A
definite improvement, in my opinion, over the first book, there is a major love
triangle happening here. Who will Misty
chose in the end?
While the pace of this book in on par with the first, I felt that the
plot development was done much better in this book than the first. I connected with the characters in a way I
was unable to in the first book as well as understood their motivations for
making the choices they were. I just
really felt terrible for Drake in this one.
I mean, he’s in jail keeping a huge secret that could destroy his
relationship while simultaneously and unknowingly pushing Misty into her
brother’s arms. And Misty, for as sweet
as she is, is keeping a whopper of a secret from Drake. A secret that if Drake only knew would change
everything! Ugh…there’s a lot of drama
here. And it all just made more sense
than the first book and worked. I’m glad
I stuck with it and read this installment.
Overall, this is an angst ridden and twisty read that had me on the
edge the whole time. It wasn’t predictable,
as I feared it would be, and it really delivered on the drama factor. And I loved the ending. 4 stars.
The
Revealed is the second book in the Flawed Series and unlike the first book,
this one not only lived up to my expectations but the author exceeded them.
From the first page she picked up where the first book left off, Misty pregnant
and alone with the knowledge about her mother, Drake sitting in jail knowing
that once his secret is out the relationship he has with Misty will be over and
Sean, Drake’s brother, who has decided that Misty would be better off with him
than waiting for Drake to get out of jail.
What
use to be a sweet and simple romance has now become a messed up situation
involving more than just the three. This story is ending with the
realization that the truth must come out, choices must be made and apologies
are going to have to be offered and some even accepted. Life as it is
won’t work for Misty and her baby if things don’t change and it needs to change
soon. Finding herself betrayed, alone and pregnant forces her to look at
the situation her biological mother was in and gives her some understanding as
to why things happened as they did in the past.
I
felt the author really grasped the concept of the characters and what the
readers needed in this book. The emotions filled each page, it allowed
the reader to find the empathy for each characters situation and we were given
the proper amount of time to learn and accept the decisions made. It felt
like the barriers were torn down between the reader and the characters in this
book and picking the good guy became even harder because we could now see the
qualities that Drake and Sean both had. After reading the conclusion to
this story, I would recommend this series even more now. Yes the first
book was harder for me to enjoy, the author made up for the lack of interest
with this one.
