Twisted Together Tour Stop!

“After battling through hell, I brought my esclave back from the brink of ruin. I sacrificed everything—my heart, my mind, my very desires to bring her back to life. And for a while, I thought it broke me, that I’d never be the same. But slowly the beast is growing bolder, and it’s finally time to show Tess how beautiful the dark can be.”
Q gave everything to bring Tess back. In return, he expects nothing less. Tess may have leashed and tamed him, but he’s still a monster inside.

I didn’t think it was possibly for me to love this series more than I already could.  The previous two books have blown me away in not only their darkness, but their light too.  This is, hands down, my favorite “dark” series to date.
This final installment pretty much picks up where Quintessentially Q left off.  Tess and Q are engaged and branded. They are, of course, still battling demons from their pasts that threaten them.  I don’t want to ruin any major plot points here, so it’s difficult to sum up the book.  But I will say that while Tess seems to be emerging from her darkness, Q appears to be pulled in even deeper to his.  And their HEA is threatened by the people each of them used to be.
This was gripping story.  I literally, about halfway through had to put my kindle down and leave the room.  It was CRAZY! I love Q, but he was really pushing me in this book further than I think he ever had, and that is really saying something!  To say this was an emotional book in an understatement.  I went from pissed to happy in .25 seconds it seems, and from happy to pissed in that same amount of time.
I do think seeing the journey of Tess and Q coming full circle in their journeys apart and together is what made this the perfect final installment of the series.  It’s told in dual POV, which was not only necessary, but completely awesome.
Overall, I just loved the crap out of this book.  It was true to the spirit of the entire journey this series has taken us on, and I could not be more pleased with the outcome.  I’m a devoted Pepper Winters fangirl!  5 stars.

They say all good things must come to an end, but when brilliant wonderful things end it really hurts.  This is the case with Tess and Q, we have reached the end.  I loved this series from the beginning with Tear of Tess to Quintessentially Q and now Twisted Together. With each book we saw individually how they were broken but in the final story, we see them bring their monsters and baggage together, determined to conquer the evil demons and find a life with each other.
Tess is still suffering from her ordeal in Quintessentially Q with nightmares, fears and panic attacks.  The worst for her was the realization she can no longer be for Q what he needs, a pain slut.  She finds she can submit to him and be the perfect submissive out of her love for him, but he needs to inflict pain on her if he is going to be happy and she no longer desires that.  She lies to him and tells him what she things he wants to hear, shielding him from the horrific acts done to her and what she had to do to survive.  She doesn’t want him to have those nightmares and guilt that he didn’t protect her.  She knows his guilt will kill him and she must hide her pain to protect him.  She also doesn’t want him to know she went against everything he has tried to do for other women.
Q isn’t a dumb man, he has broken Tess and rebuilt her, he can see in her eyes the lies, and he just can’t find the truth.  Knowing that he has blood on his hands to save her, he also wants to keep the traumatic details of her rescue from her, but he has issues with his past he is trying to forget as well.  He has a monster inside of him, fed by his father.  He would do anything to keep that monster at bay, but he has needs, painful needs that help him find a balance between the loving Q and the monster that wants to hurt Tess.  How is he going to help his beloved if she won’t open up to him and tell him what is going on and when did he lose the control of master over her, he needs her to fight and dare him, not be the perfect submissive.
To give you more of this story would take away the emotional ride you are about to embark on with this series.  It is graphic, it is painful to read but there is a quality of love and redemption that is like no other.  Even when both of them are at their worst, they are lovable.  I adore this series and it is one of the darkest and most twisted series I have ever read, but there is always hope in that darkness and Pepper Winters never lets us forget, even monsters can be redeemable with the right kind of love.

Coming to stop in front of me, he stood proud and almost narcissistic in his perfection. He’d fully embraced being in control—doing what he wanted.

“Remember what I once told you? How I wanted to eat you for days and there would be nothing you could do to stop me?” His voice held a tone I couldn’t decide if I loved or hated.

“Yes.”

“Yes, what?” His eyes flashed.

“Yes, maître.” My belly twisted with anticipation.

Q held up the intricate web of ropes. “Do you know what Shibari is, esclave?”

I couldn’t take my eyes off his hands as he twisted and twirled the rope back and forth.

He was a snake charmer, and I’d fallen completely into his conjury.

He took a step closer, ratcheting my heart rate. “It’s the art of rope and bondage. An art

I’ve fantasised about using on you for a fucking long time.”

“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… screwed up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs do make a right."

Tess is Q’s completely. Q is Tess’s irrevocably. But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.

He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster.
Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero the better and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby (who speaks French—hot!) who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends. She loves to hear from her readers so hit her up at pepperwinters@gmail.com
