Everything in Cameron Enders' life
feels like a dream since she took a trip to a remote island where she met Tristan
Michaels, Hollywood's hottest man. Tristan never imagined that his get-away
vacation would change his life and his heart.
But everything isn’t perfect in
paradise once Cameron and Tristan return to Phoenix. When Cami discovers a dark
secret, her dream becomes a living nightmare. She slips back into old habits,
turning to alcohol to hide her pain. As the woman he loves becomes more a
stranger by the day, Tristan’s world is rocked again. He’s a helpless witness
to Cami’s self-destructive cycle - until she pushes too far, testing the limits
of his love. Their love is far from perfect, but he will stop at nothing, chasing
it all until she has everything she deserves.
Cami’s withdrawal could strengthen or destroy
everything she hopes to have with Tristan. Can Cami trust him enough to give
him everything or will she cling to her secrets and their pain, tearing them
apart forever?
I
didn’t read the first book in this series but I found that I wasn’t lost at all
in this book Chasing Love’s Wings. The author accomplished character
development so well; it was easy to be up to date on the characters early in
the story.
Cami
was about to discover a well hidden secret that could ruin her life. When
it was revealed she took the less mature, more dramatic path of
self-destruction through a bottle to deal with the lies and deception.
Tristian came to her rescue that night and helped her pick up the pieces to her
shattered world, but soon we were left to question if his love was enough for
her to want to stay and face it.
After
trying to find a way to forgive the past, deception continued to present
itself, and then more surprises sent Cami into hiding for weeks. Tristan
is beside himself with worry and begins to back out of job commitments all in
hopes of trying to find her before it is too late for them. Once he does
locate her he is in for yet another surprise. Okay I will admit it, he
was hot before this moment but he had me melting in a Tristan puddle during
this scene. Oh what I would give for a man who would hunt me down and
behave like that.
Ok
so now they have to decide if being together is worth facing down the demons at
their door trying to destroy their happiness. They have some awesome
friends around them for support and help which I might add the author did just
as fabulous of a job with her secondary characters as she did with Cami and
Tristan. This group of people were just fun to watch, yet real enough to
the reader to make emotions flow. I loved the ending and how the author
just let the story flow and come to a natural conclusion. Yes this plot
is a bit predictable if you are a romance lover, but the characters give it a
unique feel. Because I never do things in order, I am going to go back
and get Finding Love’s Wings so I can see how these two started out. With
the level of passion and romance in this book, I can only imagine the sparks
flying in the first one.
