Wrapped In Leather by M.A. Church

To celebrate his decision to take the next step with his boyfriend Ian, Toshi Baylor plans a romantic evening at their favorite steak house. Toshi starts the special weekend with a bang by surprising Ian at home with lunch. There’s a bang all right, but it’s between Ian and another guy.

Jase Taylor’s auto repair shop and the BDSM club, Wrapped Up, keep him busy while he waits for Mr. Right, instead of Mr. Right Now. He’s a Dom, but playing with the club’s submissives isn’t providing the usual stress release. After a day from hell, he deserves a good meal at his favorite steak house.

Toshi and Jase find a mix-up with their reservations: a table for Baylor, not Taylor. When Toshi invites Jase to dine with him, they discover a mutual affection for leather and a shared belief that trust must be earned.

Before they can explore their common interests, Toshi suffers a series of attacks by vandals. Jase’s protective instincts kick in, but both wonder if it can lead to anything permanent.

This book caught me completely off guard, and in a totally good way.  I feel as though I should start this out by saying that if you are looking for a BDSM book that is about the EMOTIONS behind the characters, and not solely about the sex or scenes that the characters are taking part in, then you should really check this book out.  I was slightly confused because there are so many BDSM books out there now that are mainly focused upon the sex, that you lose part of the characters in the shuffle.
In this book, we get to know Toshi and Jace in more ways than one.  We get to follow along as their relationship starts out as a fluke meeting at a restaurant, to something more.  I slowly feel in total book love with Jace though throughout the story.  Just the amazing ability that he had that made Toshi feel comfortable with himself, and he showed Toshi that what he wanted wasn’t wrong, it was perfectly fine.  And Jace being willing to stand up and support Toshi even though they hadn’t know each other long, and expecting nothing in return, was just great.
I also enjoyed how we were able to meet other characters in the story, and find out more of their backstories.  I thought that it was really smart of Ms. Church to add them into the book because it did help Toshi come to understand and appreciate what it was he had with Jace.
This was not a fast paced book, but I think that if it would have been, the emotional impact wouldn’t have been as strong.  I would recommend this book if you are looking for a BDSM romance that is more about the relationships that are formed between the characters, as opposed to just the sex that takes place.
