A year ago, Jackson
Ramsey sent Jenna Parnelle away after she gave him one night of
passionate submission. At the time, he believed he was saving her from
his temper and jealous nature, but Jenna believes Jackson had been
slumming with the chubby girl from the poor side of town. A year later
Jenna finds herself staying at the Ramsey ranch while she helps her
friend Addison prepare for her wedding with Jackson's older brother,
Cade. Already dreading being in the same house with Jackson, her
problems multiply when Jackson begins to pursue her. The last year has
taught Jackson that he's not the kind of man who would hurt a woman,
much less the only woman he's ever loved. Now he has to convince Jenna,
but she's decided to protect herself from further heartbreak. Who will
win when a determined Dom pursues a stubborn submissive?
Do
you remember that saying “Saving the best for last”? well it appears that is
just what the author did with the Ramsey brothers. Zane is even more
intense than the twins , Cade and Jackson all put together. I will just
say it now, this impressed me to no ends because I had come to expect Zane to
be more of the controlled and reserved brother, not only because of the roles
he has played in the prior three books but because of his career as a
prosecutor for the DA’s office.
Zane
finds himself in a battle between his lust and desires to make Ravyn his
woman/slave and the job he is assigned to do for the DA. He knows Ravyn
is hiding something from him and with the information regarding the crimes
connected to her family and homestead, he really has to cage his heart and lust
so he can bring justice to those who have hurt innocent people.
Ravyn
knows more than she can let on. With blackmail and abuse as a family
tradition she is faced being framed for a crime she never committed it
appears. Unfortunately the man her body longs for is the one who is
supposed to prove her guilt. How can she trust him enough to tell him the
truth and all that she knows when his goal in life as she sees it is to put her
behind bars.
This
is the recipe for a hot steamy romance and the author didn’t fail to
deliver. With Zane and Ravyn there was that extra force that drove them
to seek their sexual needs and emotional connection like there was no
tomorrow. I found that as a huge bonus for us readers as the story
unfolded and the choices were made as to what they were going to do about their
future. The author kept a constant invisible elastic band between their
wants and their needs giving us a fantastic tug of war between emotions and
realty.
As
with most of her books in this series, the plot is sprinkled with distrust,
betrayal, lies and crime but always giving us the added bonus of
protectiveness, love, Dom’s and some really hot passion. I hope to be
getting my hands on more of her books soon. I would love to thank
her and the Ramsey brothers and crew for many hours of heart melting, edge of
the seat, fanning the face moments that I have enjoyed over the last
month.
I was born in Utah but I’ve
traveled throughout America and lived in sunny California, hot and dry west
Texas, and the mountains of Colorado. I wrote my first erotic romance in the
summer of 2013. It was accepted and published that same year. Since then I’ve
written three more books in the Doms of Club Mystique series. At this time I’m
busy writing the fifth and final book in the series. My heroes are tough
cowboys with military backgrounds and my heroines are strong, sassy and
submissive. I like my readers to laugh, and cry, so I put a lot of emotion in
my books as well as suspense and happy endings.
Other than writing, I
love to read, travel, garden, swim with my family, and go to the local drive-in
movie with a carload of friends and a huge container of home-made cheese
popcorn.
Wow, Tbird! Thank you for taking the time to read my book and then write such a wonderful review. Mardi
