Nothing Gray About Fifty by J.F. Silver

This is the second book in the Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe series and I was not as impressed with it as I was with the first.  It is a continuation of the first story with all of the same characters but it didn’t seem as though there was a plot to this installment of the series.

It seemed like it was just someone’s naughty diary.  The sexual scenes were still really steamy but without a plot to drive the scenes, it fell flat.  Half way through the book I was almost bored.  It did pick up as they were planning the birthday party but still I was wishing for more of a plot to the story instead of just an accounting of Elaine and Joe’s life.  I will give the third installment a try and I sincerely hope there is more of a plot in that one because I think this could be better.
