His Forever Summer by Tara Finnegan

Carla Methon has tread on a lot of toes, men’s and women’s alike. But no one could be more dissatisfied with Carla than the lady herself. With a compunction to throw herself at every man within a three mile radius and a serious case of foot in mouth disease, Carla knows she is in desperate need of being taken in hand before she does any more damage to her reputation.

Kieran O’Brien needs to escape a broken relationship and he invites himself to spend a summer with his brother in Corbin’s Bend. But Kieran is a totally unsuspecting vanilla with no idea of the ethos of the community he is about to enter.

The pair strike up an unlikely friendship of vanilla and spice, with one stipulation – it is only a summer fling. By the time Kieran boards his flight to return to Ireland he wishes his summer could last forever. Can he find the courage, not only to admit the extent of his feelings, but to take on the role Carla so desperately needs him to be?
Carla finally gets what she deserves … a happy ending! His Forever Summer gives Corbin’s Bend fans a chance to get to know the real Carla and to find out why she has been such a troublemaker in the past. It may have slipped my mind about her previous marriage but even so the details regarding its demise were so sad. It makes it easier to understand why she tried so hard to cling to what she saw as a good man (e.g, Jim and Marcus). It’s also what makes her decision to friend-zone Kieran not only understandable but admirable. Carla knew what she wanted (a DD relationship) and didn’t attempt to convert Kieran or compromise her standards simply to land a man. The lack of desperation looks good on Carla.

As for Kieran, he flees to his big brother’s home in America to escape the upcoming nuptials of his long-term girlfriend, the one who said she wasn’t built for marriage. Learning that what she actually meant was she wasn’t built for marriage with him was understandably a blow to Kieran. Hiding out in Corbin’s Bend for the summer seemed like the perfect idea. Because of why they left Ireland to begin with, Ange doesn’t want Jim to tell Kieran what Corbin’s Bend is all about – she’s had enough of being shamed by their family and doesn’t want to deal with Kieran’s reaction to their DD relationship. Unfortunately Jim agrees to her request and ends up with two black eyes when Kieran jumps in to save Ange from being beaten (aka a punishment spanking). I, of course, laughed my arse off at the scene – when will residents learn that it’s in their best interest to disclose that Corbin’s Bend is a spanking-friendly community? Fortunately their friendship allows Carla to explain to Kieran what he actually witnessed between his brother and sister-in-law and she goes on to explain that she herself has an appointment with a professional disciplinarian. This disclosure serves as the catalyst for Kieran to offer a summer relationship as he both fears for her safety and is jealous. After finding out that Kieran is indeed able to provide the spanking she so very much needed, Carla finds herself agreeing that temporary with Kieran is better than nothing and the two fall into a very caring relationship that gets quite steamy once he realizes that Carla no longer wants to friend-zone him. Will the summer be the end or can they find they find a way to move on from their respective pasts and build a lasting relationship?

His Forever Summer is a great addition to the Corbin’s Bend series and goes a long way in repairing the damage that Carla has done to her standing within the community. And because we are in Corbin’s Bend, we are treated to an obstacle filled journey as these two make their way to the happy ending they deserve. I’m looking forward to my return to the spanking-friendly community with A Brush of Violet
The accidental writer, that's me!
A lot of writers will tell you that they dreamed of being a writer for years and were making up stories from they were knee high to a grasshopper. And a lot of them loved English class.
I dodged all forms of essay (not even bothering to look for an original or plausible excuse) and entertained myself and by poor desk mate during my English classes by very rudely paraphrasing and taking the mickey out of Francis Bacon...yep, looking back, that's probably when I should have had my first good spanking. If not for wasting my own education, then surely for distracting my misfortunate neighbour.
Then I started an affair with my computer, so much so that I nearly had to be surgically removed from it. And what's an affair without a good measure of hot sex and erotic spanking? And that's how it happened!
When I'm not writing, I'm a wife and mother living in the West of Ireland. My job description varies from taxi service, washerwoman, chief cook, gofer and general finder of lost items. The writing has to fit in around that.
