Leading The Way by Constance Masters

Zachary Cunningham moved his family to Corbin's Bend when everything in their life seemed out of control. In a DD relationship with his wife Erin, he thought things had leveled out now that they lived in a community where everyone watched out for one another and discipline was the norm. Surely his family life could be more settled now.

Erin had never made friends easily and in Corbin's Bend she found it doubly as hard. A little too hard on herself, she ignored her mentor and any friendliness from neighbors; so afraid of making a mistake that she didn't try. Until her husband insisted. Having convinced herself she was doing what he wanted, she made friends with a few ladies who liked to push the envelope a little. From bowling to a strip club to smoking a little weed, her life was definitely a lot more fun, even if she was hiding her activities from Zach.

Imagine this amazing town that all the people who live in are in Domestic Discipline relationships. Every couple has different rules that they have to follow or else they are punished by whatever means have been decided upon in the past. But not only do the couples have to enforce their own rules, but the rules of the town as well.  Because no town would be complete without having their own rules and requirements, if they didn’t havoc would take over the streets.
In the previous books in this series, we have learned a bit about some of the couples living in Corbin’s Bend, and for the most part they are all behaving and following the rules. This book is completely different than those.  And why is that? Because we finally get to meet the rulebreakers in the group!
I haven’t read anything by Ms. Masters in the past, but after reading this story I will surely be checking out her other works. Ms. Masters shows an amazing sense of humor in this book, because even though there was still an overlay of seriousness in the story, it didn’t take over the whole story. There were some times that I couldn’t stop laughing because there were just some off the wall things that were happening in it.
I did enjoy the characters in this book quite a bit. I really enjoyed how Zach was with Erin; he was strict but he was also willing, and wanting, to help Erin make friends and help support her in her new found world.
It was also real fun to spend time with some of the other couples as well. Being able to follow along as the other people were explaining what their relationships were like, as well as sharing stories about what they have been in trouble for in the past, that just made it so much more fun of a book.
Their relationship is one that I would enjoy seeing more of in the future for sure. I think that as a couple, they do show the give and take that is required for a relationship to work successfully.
Overall, I am once again completely blown away by this series and I really can’t wait for the next book to be released!
