is the perfect ending to one of the most untraditional love stories I have ever
read. Tears of Tess was her story, Quintessentially Q was his, and Twisted Together is theirs as they move
forward in a life together. Despite the trials and tribulations they have faced
and overcome, Tess and Q find that their happily ever after is threatened at
every turn by factors within their relationship and the outside world. But something
worth having is worth fighting for, and they both fight for their relationship
relentlessly in this book.
Twisted
Together
is not a stand-alone book and anyone attempting to read it as such will be
woefully lost and is cheating themselves from the beauty of the relationship
between a sadist and his masochist. As this is the third book in the Monsters
in the Dark series, you are already well-acquainted with the main characters
and their lives. You know the literal tortures both Tess and Q have experienced
as well as the inner demons that fight daily. While the sex is just as hot as
in the prior books, it is also healing and loving as their relationship
continues to strengthen in their shared needs and tragedies.
Ms. Winters possesses an astounding
talent that leaves me wanting more – not because the story is incomplete, but
because Tess and Q’s story is beautiful in its darkness and I’m not ready for
it to be over. Her writing elicited the full gamut of emotional reactions as I
read Twisted Together: I cried, I
feared, I squirmed, I smiled, and I even laughed (when Q made sure that Lynx’s
cuts never moved beyond his legs). There is so much that goes on in the book,
that commenting on particular scenes risks revealing spoilers for this and the
previous books. So I will leave you with this, if you enjoyed the journey
through Tears of Tess and Quintessentially Q, then you will not be
disappointed with Twisted Together.
