Well I have to say, for how short this story was I
was not disappointed in the slightest with it! The story as a whole kept my
attention and didn’t leave me wanting for anything else.
The characters were extremely well written in my
opinion. It was very easy to connect with Laura and Slade. The chemistry
between the two of them was so obvious, that I was left hoping that Slade would
take the lunge and give Laura what she wanted, and needed.
I even enjoyed that the author had made Mike the
way that he was. I thought it was really smart of her to add a character that
didn’t really understand the club, and the relationships that happen between
the members. And while she could have made him even worse than he was, I think
she did a great balance between him having his personal feelings towards it,
and being offensive towards people in those types of relationship.
Overall, I did enjoy this story and I will be sure
to read more from this author in the future!

Slade, a man with whom she has a past; the only man she’s ever loved who left
her with no explanation, never to be heard from again.
This was a short
but pretty exciting read. It’s a BDSM
read, and if you’re into that kind of thing, it’s pretty hot. What’s nice about this story is that it seems
to balance the romance with the BDSM of the story, which is sometimes what
books of this genre fail to do.
For a short
story, it also really gives you a good sense of the characters and their
struggles. Often, short reads leave me
wanting more in that department, but this author really manages to convey the
emotions of each character and you understand their motivations and
mistakes. It’s a well done and very sexy
story. 4 stars.
Glutton for punishment would be a good description
for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when
people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to
toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children,
pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic
goddess she is not.
There is always something better to do after all,
like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even
more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters
tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris
burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and
quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.
She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales
involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get.
From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories
are guaranteed.
