In Darkest Flame by Donna Grant, the
Dark Kings have fought for centuries to preserve their dragon magic. But one of
the most powerful warriors of his kind will be put to the ultimate test. Is he strong
enough to resist his greatest temptations? Or will he be forced to
surrender—body and soul?
HER
BEAUTY IS A WEAPON.
Denae
Lacroix is a beautiful MI5 agent on a deadly mission. Sent to the Scottish
Highlands to spy on the mysterious Dreagan Industries, she discovers too late
that she’s been set up—as human bait. She is an irresistible lure for a man who
has not seen or touched a woman for centuries. He is a man with a destiny—and a
desire—that could destroy them both…
HIS
PASSION IS A CURSE…
It’s
been twelve hundred years since Kellan has walked among humans—and there’s no
denying the erotically charged attraction he feels for Denae. But as a Dragon
King, he is sworn to protect his secrets. Yet the closer he gets to this smart,
ravishing woman, the more her life is in danger. All it takes is one reckless
kiss to unleash a flood of desire, the fury of dragons…and the fiercest enemy
of all.
So holy wowzer!!
This part of the series surely did start out with a bang, but considering how
Part 1 ended, you could only expect as much.
It was extremely
interesting to be able to learn more about the Dark Ones in this part of the
series. To find out about the powers that they have, and how they are able to
use people anyway that they want.
Even though we already
know how strong of a woman Denae is, it was amazing to watch as she grew
stronger in this book. To see what she was made of as she was forced to deal
with some insane things happening to her throughout it. It was also fun to follow along as Kellan was
dealing with everything happening to Denae. There were some points in this part
of the series where I did just want to smack him, solely because I couldn’t
believe how stupid he was acting! But men will be men I suppose.
One character
that really shocked me in this part would be Rhi. I was sure she had something
up her sleeve, and she still might of course, but the way that she was able to
pull through for Denae was just amazing. There is just enough mystery around
Rhi that makes you want to learn more about her, but of course Ms. Grant keeps just
giving us little hints about her past.
Once again, Ms.
Grant was able to bring another great part of the series, with just enough
action that keeps you wanting for more to come!
