Three the Hard Way (ACRO #7) by Sydney Croft

Lovers Taggart Brody and Justice McKinney possess special abilities that make them valuable to agencies who employ—or enslave—people with extraordinary talents. When tragedy tears them apart, Justice finds purpose working for the good guys: ACRO, the super-secret Agency for Covert Rare Operatives. But he never forgets Taggart or the past they once shared.

Heartbroken, Taggart runs from who he is . . . right into the arms of Ian Bridges. But Ian, battling his own demons, betrays Tag to the terrorist organization Itor. After months of torture, Tag manages to escape, but kills an ACRO agent in the process.

With nowhere left to turn, Tag disappears into the Alaskan wilderness, but it’s only a matter of time before his enemies track him down. He reaches out to Justice, and somehow Ian finds him too, hoping to right his wrongs. With ACRO and Itor both bearing down, the three men must figure out how to forgive, how to work together, and how to love each other—or the coming battle will destroy them all.

We have three MC’s Justice an ACRO agent, Taggart Justice’s childhood, young adult best friend until their mothers were killed in an Itor raid that tore them apart. And Ian, the hired agent sent to seduce Taggart to become an Itor agent, by any means necessary. Several years later, Taggart managed to escape the compound bombing that ACRO did against its arch enemy Itor. And has been hiding, healing in Alaska. Not knowing what else to do, he has contacted Justice for help. As Justice is at the cabin, Ian shows up and the three make a packed that they will help each other take down the one thing that has torn them apart.

Ok, this is billed as an ACRO novella but coming in at over 120 pages it’s a little more than that. Also, you can read it as stand alone. I’ve never heard of this ACRO series before and wasn’t lost at all. It’s written by two authors, one I used to read when I read MF, loved her paranormal stuff, but didn’t realize she branched off in MM. The other I’ve heard of but never had the pleasure of reading. Together they write an amazing action packed book from start to finish. The chemistry between all three, the guilt and torment Taggart feels because the two men he loves are there to rescue him and in return maybe themselves. All the while these two agencies are barreling down on the little cabin in Alaska. I will be going back and finding all about this ACRO series!
