This one again is about Bryan and Daroshi although Shawn and Ziang do play a role in the story. We’ve made it through space, the poising and now about to land on their new plant and home. Once Bryan and Shawn see the new planet they are heart sick to see it’s as bland as the ship, browns, grays, no color. But they are determined to make the best of it. Once Bryan and Daroshi get to Daroshi home and settle into the new life it becomes obvious that Bryan is not happy, so they decide to go on a hunting trip were Bryan is the prey. Little do they know that someone else will be hunting him as well?

This book is all about moving the story along. Getting Bryan settled, seeing if this will work, getting to know each other. And it’s a good story. Couple of twists which are predictable but still very well written and the sexual encounters are smoking hot. My big issue’s with this one is that we spent several pages in the beginning and then again later on rehashing the first two books.  Now, I have to admit that I don’t know the time gap between releases, but these books aren’t that long. People can skim read to catch up if they have forgotten obvious plot points? Why waste valuable page space? give us more story, please.  Also something that bugged me throughout the book, and I don’t normally bring up covers but I LOVE covers and will buy a book just based on it. On both the second and third book, we show Bryan hairless but clearly by the description he is a hairy guy. This really bothers me; do we just not care enough to get the cover and the character to match? This time we aren’t left with a cliffy but enough of an open that we will probably see another couple of books in the series.

My first book by this author and I have to say I was expecting so much more. Maybe because it’s only a novella and that’s why I felt it was lacking. But the whole thing I didn’t feel anything for any of the characters, and I thought I should have especially since a child went missing, I should have felt the anguish, right? Also, who keeps a staple gun in the trunk of their car? Other than those points I did like the fact that the bond these men clearly had, the family they have created. I liked the wooing touch they did, by playing the violin. And then the twist at the end.

This quick 50 page novella is about forbidden love between brothers, twins. It’s written in opposing points of views, which normally I do not like, however really works for this story. Both brothers couldn’t be more different; one owns a bar, outwardly gay, dates all the wrong men but shy. The other is a life guard, life of the party, never dates and very protective of his brother.  Even though this is a novella we jump weeks of times, so we cover a lot of details of life events and what brings them too finally admitting their feelings towards each other. This is so much more than one of those written for shock value books. And well worth the read.

This is my first book by this author, and over all I found it a pleasant read just not my type of book. Too many minor characters and minor stories going on, not enough focus on the main topic to keep me focused. We have Charlie, starting a new job because he got fired from his last for being gay. We have Sam (Sin), who the book revolves around, was gay bashed by his brother and his brother’s gang. Waiting to go to trail and in the mean time trying to stay out there way so they don’t finish the job, and Gabe, someone from the future, his story is explained.  I just couldn’t get a connection between any of these characters, where I got the premise of the story, and felt the struggles that not only Sam had to go through, being attacked twice. The trail, the difficulty dealing with the reality that his brother did this to him, all would have made for an interesting story. And then Charlie as well, although we seemed to have had lost his story somewhere along the way? The whole futurist soul mate thing, just threw me.

This book is for you if A, you like futuristic stories but set on Earth, well underwater, B, enjoy a long read, C, enjoy a little gore with your HEA.

I enjoy all the above and really enjoyed this story, however we have a lot of characters so this is not one you can skim or read while doing other things. It’s not complicated just involved. The two main MC’s Mo and Armin are wonderful together, this is a fade story, no heavy sex scene, but it doesn’t need any. You can feel the connection between these two without it.  The simple touches, the looks. The comradery between all the secondary characters even though most have been thrown in together to figure out and fight the unknown is so well written, it’s amazing. And once you figure out what the ‘unknown’ is. Wow! And really the author keeps you guessing until the very end, will he? Won’t he? Nice touch.

Shine Forever (Missing Butterfly #3) by Megan Derr

Overall I it was a likable story, once I figured out who everyone was. It was a nice storyline, closet case, finds love in another band. Doesn’t tell anyone, people find out and think he’s joining that band.  Instead they are meeting up around the world and going at it, like bunnies.  Cooper was a likable guy, down home and Dai off the charts gay.  Interesting match, but it worked. The secondary was likable as well, as you got to know them towards the end. Although, I have to say, I didn’t feel any lasting connection with any of them. The time frame also confused me and kept me from loving this story, I got the five year jump. But after that we were all over the place, meeting not meeting but no since of how long apart, where are we? Or at least I didn’t get one. Couple of others things just didn’t work for me either.
